Makeup Artist Tip #3: Blush

blush-main_Full.jpg

  1. We are using 2 colours of blush for this look, a Warm peachy colour and a taupe highlight. The Taupe could be the same colour as your light eye shadow colour (if you are using neutral colours.)
  2. Start with the Peachy colour (I am using Nars “Orgasm”) and apply to the apples of the cheeks and the cheek bones.  Start by Smiling or grinning, so the apples of your cheeks are pronounced.  Then load up a blush brush with the blush and shake to remove excess.
  3. In one, quick sweeping motion, apply the blush to the apple first, then the cheekbones to the bottom of the temple. Think of the movement at a J shape across the face.
  4. With the Highlight (I am using Nars “albatross”) sweep over the tops of the cheekbone.  This gives great definition to the cheeks as well as a pretty shimmer.
  5. Blend the 2 colours together so there are no hard lines between the foundation, blush and highlight.
